Growing Yourself as a Leader
๐ง ExpandingEarly on, your growth was handled for you: promotions, projects, and mentors arrived on a schedule someone else set. As a manager, that scaffolding falls away โ nobody is assigning you a curriculum for getting better at the job, and “more years of experience” is not the same as actually improving. This topic will cover building a deliberate practice for your own development: seeking real feedback instead of waiting for it, choosing stretch experiences on purpose, finding the mentors and sponsors that make up your leadership network, and reflecting often enough to actually learn from what you live through. Until it’s written out, start with the Go Deeper resources โ they’re the books and writers I’d hand a manager who wants to grow on purpose.
